The Hiawatha National Forest and Lake Superior State Forest, The Big Spring, "Kitch", the largest spring in Michigan at Palms Book State Park, the Garlyn Zoological Park, The Thompson State Fish Hatchery, three golf courses, and over 2,000 miles of groomed trails for snowmobiling are also near by.
