Stan Swofford was born and raised in the South Carolina Lowcountry. Throughout his life, he has resided in Hampton, Jasper, and Beaufort counties. After graduating from high school as salutatorian of his class, he attended Georgia Southern University for 4 years in Statesboro, GA, where he graduated with honors. Stan currently lives on the Pocotaligo River, which branches off of the Broad River, in the Yemassee/Sheldon area and is not far away from the Bluffton or Beaufort areas. He is an active hunter in Hampton, Jasper, and Allendale Counties. He has a chocolate lab as a hunting companion named Mox. He is a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. His many interests include hunting, fishing, watching and following sports, boating, playing golf, and real estate! One of his favorite quotes is, “You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore”.
